Thanks to you Mr. Martyniuk . I can paint something that at least looks like a painting. THis was just finished July 12 2015.Was another full year before I painted again, I kept looking at the canvas every day but was not interested till a few days ago.Not bad for my 7 painting.

June 21 2014 My 64th  birthday. This for me was a more complex piece than 'I had intended to do. it was difficult and I got mad at the painting. I tossed out in the back yard where it stayed for a day then I retrieved it took off the pieces of grass and continued. This took the better part of a week to complete. Somethings I like in the painting others Yuck.

Ed Martyniuk's style of oil painting

March 31 2014. I did a painting in the style that Ed Martyniuk uses a lot on T.V. Kind of neat . Tape a design on the canvas with masking tape and have at it.

February 2 2014 . After about 5 tries and nothing was going right i tossed out the lousy ones. Fear is the biggest problem to overcome when painting,at least for me. The fear of total failure I guess. But I purchased another DVD and made another stab at painting. And low and behold things seemed to go right. I painted a double mesa. Could have done better on the foreground ,but I thought i had better leave well enough alone.

October 5 2013 after 2 years or watching painters on the internet and looking at pictures of oil paintings I happened to see a T.V. program called Beautiful Freestyle Oil Painting from Alberta up here in Canada. The painter was Ed Martyniuk. Every day at noon there was two half hour shows where he taught people how to paint. After about 6 months of watching I ordered one of Ed's DVD's and painted my third oil painting. This turned out to be a lot better than I expected. I was quite pleased at what I did. Not bad for someone with no talent and an ex factory worker.

October 27 2011 almost a year later I tried again. The sky and the clouds look not to bad in this one.Looks a little better than my first attempt

My first attempt at oil painting December 10 2010. I bought an easel and a few tubes of paint and gave it a go. I picked out a photo from some images of Scotland. Not to good without any training. But it's a start.
